Paige Vreemen Announced as Sophie’s Squad Ambassador

MINNEAPOLIS, Minnesota — Collegiate hockey forward Paige Vreeman is set to join Sophie’s Squad’s new ambassador program. 

Vreeman, a native of Rogers, Minnesota, plays for Long Island University and is entering her fourth season. She’s played 60 games for the Sharks in her career thus far. Before her collegiate career, Vreeman played four seasons for Rogers High School where she was a standout both on and off the ice. She received an Excellence in Community, Education, and Leadership award in 2021, along with the Hobey Baker Character Award.

Vreeman has helped host Sophie’s Squad at Long Island University the last two seasons and also played in the very first game the organization hosted during her senior season at Rogers.

Vreeman is excited to join the ambassador program with Sophie’s Squad and have the opportunity to bring the organization’s message to where she plays.

“I’m ecstatic to partner and be an ambassador for Sophie’s squad to bring more awareness about not only Sophie’s story, but the importance of mental health out to the east coast!” Vreeman said, “I would love to just keep spreading the message of hope and be able to be a light for those on my college campus and in the community of Long Island.”

As an ambassador, Vreeman will continue championing Sophie’s Squad while advancing mental health awareness and initiatives. Ambassadors promote the organization through the power of their reach as high-level elite athletes. Sophie’s Squad marketing coordinator, Ryan Bahl, spoke about Vreeman’s involvement with the ambassador program.

“Paige Vreeman has been a huge help in expanding our message to a new market,” Bahl said. “The two events she’s helped facilitate with Long Island University have been a huge success and we can’t wait to expand our partnership with Paige even more.”

Vreeman is the latest athlete to join the Sophie’s Squad ambassador program, joining a list of dedicated team members. The organization is excited to partner with a diverse group of athletes across all sports, age groups, and backgrounds.

Sophie’s Squad, founded in 2021, is a Minnesota-based nonprofit organization dedicated to raising awareness about mental health issues and breaking the stigma surrounding seeking help. The organization partners with athletes, teams, and communities to promote open conversations, education, and support through events nationwide.
