Meet Claire Butorac

Claire Butorac is an American professional ice hockey forward who plays for the Minnesota Frost of the Professional Women’s Hockey League (PWHL). Born on September 24, 1999, in Coon Rapids, Minnesota, she developed her game through youth and college hockey before launching a pro career with Minnesota — helping the Frost win back-to-back Walter Cup championships in 2024 and 2025.

Off the ice, Claire is a passionate mental health advocate who believes deeply in the importance of emotional well-being for athletes and everyday people alike. She uses her platform to encourage open conversations about mental health, support community resources, and help destigmatize seeking help when life feels overwhelming. Her approach emphasizes that strength includes caring for your mind as well as your body — and that athletes can be powerful voices for compassion, resilience, and support for one another.

I believe it is crucial to be an advocate for mental health. I believe the more we can normalize speaking about mental health in a positive light, the more we can create environments for people to thrive, knowing they are seen and valued no matter what.
